This was our first home together. Jeff carried me across the threshold into what looked like a murder scene. Yellow caution tape warned us of the gaping holes in the living room floor. In our newlywed eyes, what lied beyond the yellow tape was the potential of a transformational fixer upper.
Remodeling that house for the first 2 years of our marriage tore us apart and brought us back together again. The house was worth every blood, sweat, and tear poured into it. In the end, that home gave us many cherished memories. It’s where we welcomed 2 beautiful babies. It’s where I hugged my dad for the last time.
