Life is about having our moments.
In the Clary house, “moments” are plentiful. Mostly because I accidentally, on purpose got pregnant three times in three years, resulting in the loves of my life…Tucker Beau, Scarlett Elise, and Fiona Victoria.
Yes. Three Clary kids in three years. How lucky are our neighbors? 😉 It’s like they get to live next to a toy junk yard and wild circus at the same time. It’s true.
Raising three children is like waiting for the punch line every day.
Certainly, it did not start out in a joking manner. I often cried as I tried to adjust to mothering a newborn, 18 month old, and newly turned 3 year old. Tired, stressed, and broke from a severe blow of unpaid maternity leave, Jeff and I found ourselves at the bottom of the marriage barrel.
On a fast track to depression, I made my family vow. Laugh more. Stress less. A strong sense of humor is what makes it fun- and survivable!
Since then, we take time to have fun as a family. It has been a serious breath of fresh air allowing myself to embrace my havoc of a house. We spend more time sharing jokes, playing games, reading books, laughing together at the funny pictures/videos we took of that day’s incidences and less time cleaning up toys and putting clean clothes in dressers. The basket of clean clothes eventually becomes empty after you dress from it 7 days in a row. It’s known as #thelaundrycycle. Fact.
Our life is chaotic. Legit. I’m not even mad about it, though, because Jeff and I are blessed (we’ll call it that) to co-coach the greatest Super Toddler Team E V E R- all while working full-time jobs, doing major house remodeling projects, and road trippin’ in between.
Sometimes when you make memories, you make messes. Sometimes when you make messes, you make chaos. And always, where there is chaos, there are the Clary’s.
